Crisis: how does EFKO respond?

    21 February 2023

As part of the business program "PRODEXPO - 2023", a session of "Roskachestvo" - "Efficient production in a crisis" was held. Alexander Alekseenko, Dairy Industry Director of EFKO Fat and Oil Division, made a presentation and shared case studies with industry experts.

It is not the first time that Roskachestvo organizes strategic sessions within the framework of PRODEXPO. This year, experts discussed what tools manufacturers can use to maintain stability in a difficult geopolitical and economic environment. The session was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification and other industry organizations.

“In times of crisis, it is important to be flexible and constantly review development vectors,” said Alexander Alekseenko. products according to world quality and safety standards. This is not only a guarantee for the Russian consumer, but also a basis for working with foreign markets. Since December 2020, we have been producing fats with a reduced content of contaminants - glycidyl ethers, although the norm has not even been fixed by law yet. One of the most important tasks is the development of our own R & D - we are developing new fats for various sectors of the food industry in order to reduce the level of imports to a minimum.

Also during his speech, Alexander Alekseenko noted that an uncompromising attitude to the level of production sites helped to strengthen the company's position in the market:

“Since the founding of the company, we have made a commitment to achieving the highest quality product possible. We took reference points to international standards: Halal, Kosher, RSPO, SMETA (Sedex), OHSAS 18000 (ISO 45000), ISO 14000 principles. In 2022, the BRC certificate, which was fairly issued to our production sites in Alekseevka and Taman, was revoked. This was done with all enterprises to which it was issued on the territory of Russia and Belarus. We have undergone an equally complex audit to confirm the high level of compliance of the sites with the requirements of the FSSC 22000 certification scheme.”

It is worth noting that in 2017 and 2018 our company became the winner of the Russian government award in the field of quality. This is the highest state award, it was received, among other things, by the production site in Alekseevka.
